AML HORSES

A Journey Through Show Jumping

My journey in show jumping began at an early age and has taken me from national championships in Portugal to European Championships, Nations Cups and international competition across Europe.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with horses at different stages of their careers, compete at a high level and develop my knowledge within professional international sport-horse environments.

This experience is the foundation behind AML Horses today.

In 2018, I took an important step in my professional development by joining Stal Joppen in Maasbree, The Netherlands, working within a highly professional international show-jumping environment, working close to the international rider Rodrigo Giesteira de Almeida.

My responsibilities and experience included:

  • Training and development of competition horses.
  • Participation in international show-jumping competitions (CSI).
  • Working within a professionalised training and competition system.
  • Preparation of horses for high-level sport.
  • Development of sporting performance and competitive results.
  • Exposure to the management and professional operation of an international show-jumping stable.

This experience strengthened my understanding of the demands of professional sport and provided valuable insight into the daily management, training and development of high-performance competition horses.

Van Mierlo Sport Horses - Lanaken, Belgium

International High-Performance Environment

September 2019 – January 2020

My professional development continued at Van Mierlo Sport Horses in Lanaken, Belgium, further expanding my experience within an international high-performance environment.

During this period, my work focused on:

  • Management and development of competition horses from a sporting and commercial perspective.
  • Creation and implementation of a highly professionalised training system.
  • Development and preparation of horses for high-level sport.
  • Regular participation in international show-jumping competitions (CSI).
  • Weekly competition experience at international level.
  • Contributing to the sporting development and commercial value of competition horses.

Working within professional stables in both The Netherlands and Belgium allowed me to gain a broader understanding of international show jumping – not only as a rider, but also from the perspective of training, horse development, management and the commercial side of the sport.

AML HORSES

The Foundation of AML Horses

From my first National Championship podium in 2004, through European Championships and Nations Cups representing Portugal, FEI World Ranking competitions and senior international sport, my career has always been centred around one thing: the horse.

My experience has developed across different levels of the sport – from young horses to established competition horses, from national championships to international CSI competitions, and from riding and training to the professional management and development of sport horses.

The experience gained in Portugal, The Netherlands and Belgium has shaped the philosophy behind AML Horses.

Today, AML Horses brings together this sporting background with a commitment to horse development, performance, professionalism and the creation of the right partnership between horse and rider.

Experience built in the ring. Knowledge built through the horses. AML Horses.
